{"id":18149,"date":"2022-06-15T19:14:54","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T17:14:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.luque-machines.com\/services\/mach3\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T14:33:16","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T12:33:16","slug":"mach3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.luque-machines.com\/en\/technologies\/mach3\/","title":{"rendered":"Mach3"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before discussing Mach3, let&#8217;s look at the history of the creation of numerical control and the emergence of G-code.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The principle of numerical control by G-code (or ISO code)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the emergence of computerized numerical control, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, located in the United States, developed G-Code in the 1950s, which has become the most widely used programming language in the world of numerical control.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luque-machines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/G-code.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"163\" height=\"197\" src=\"https:\/\/www.luque-machines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/G-code.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4120\"\/><\/a><figcaption>ISO code is primarily composed of G-code lines<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More generally, ISO code, composed of G commands (as well as M, F, and S commands, etc.), allows you to tell computer-controlled machines, such as milling machines, what to do and how to do it. G-code commands are instructions indicating where to move, at what speed, and along which path, primarily using two methods: linear or circular. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Controlling your CNC machine with Mach3<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mach3 is part of the MACH software series, developed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.machsupport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Artsoft<\/a>. It allows a computer to be transformed <strong>&#8220;into a control console&#8221;<\/strong> to operate your CNC machine. Mach3 is the most well-known software in its market. You can also directly import your files in DXF, BMP, JPG, and HPGL formats via the software&#8217;s LazyCam package, which is used to convert your part into a toolpath for Mach3.   <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.luque-machines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Mach3.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.luque-machines.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Mach3-1024x455.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4121\" width=\"594\" height=\"264\"\/><\/a><figcaption>The Mach3 interface is fully customizable<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can create a fully customizable interface, in addition to being able to create M-codes and macros using VBScript. MACH3 software also features spindle speed control, multiple relay control, video display, manual pulse generation, with full-screen capability and touch buttons.
